Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
The Bid Method is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive impairments. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, where reasonably practicable, and to keep improving accessibility as an ongoing process rather than a one-off task.
What we've done
Steps we have taken to make this website more accessible include:
- Building pages with semantic HTML, so headings, lists, tables and landmarks are correctly structured for assistive technology.
- Ensuring menus and accordion-style content (such as FAQs) can be operated fully by keyboard, without requiring a mouse.
- Providing visible focus states so keyboard users can see which element is currently selected.
- Adding meaningful alt text to images that convey information, and marking purely decorative images so they are skipped by screen readers.
- Choosing colour combinations - particularly our dark green/white and orange/white pairings - with sufficient contrast for readability.
- Building a responsive layout that adapts across all standard breakpoints, from mobile through to large desktop screens.
- Considering users who prefer reduced motion, and keeping animation restrained and non-essential to understanding content.
- Including a "skip to content" link at the top of every page for keyboard and screen reader users.
Known limitations
We are continuing to test and improve this website. Known limitations at present include:
- Placeholder - e.g. "Full screen-reader testing across all pages is still to be completed"
- Placeholder - list any other known gaps, e.g. older PDFs or downloadable documents that have not yet been checked for accessibility
We are working to address these limitations and will update this statement as improvements are made.
